Gregory Decapolite is a layperson, not a monk, and he's not in ROCOR-MP. I won't say anymore, since he is the type of person that would appreciate anonymity.

I was talking about Monk Theophan who is from the MP and wrote that text. I was saying I got the text from Gregory decapolites Telegram channel. I should have made that more distinct. I can see the confusion on that.

Definitely not an expert, I appreciate the kind words nonetheless. As I mentioned above Gregory posted the text of this Monk Theophan on his telegram and that’s where I found it. As far as I know Gregory is still making videos. Seems he has a cognitive bias or some spiritual deception going on. He’s looking for an out and tends to say some very odd things to defend some absurd WO narratives. I gotta give him his props for his work on the Catacomb Church though.

You mean he is a bit in prelest ? He had some way too harsh things to say, I remember, which made me stop listening to him a long time ago.
However I still remember a video Maria posted here with the most beautiful Monastery. I would love to see the REAL one of that picture !
Do you remember any particular things he said defending the World Orthodox that were ridiculous ? I hadn't noticed that he was so pro-World Orthodox. I assumed he was very traditional only.
What DID he cover regarding the Catacomb Church ?
And - is it true, could he be a layman ? I wonder where, in what jurisdiction then ? But I guess his identity will remain a mystery...
