Fr. Joseph reviews this guy's review. I have another take.
I can't help but notice the evidence coming from a journalist who recorded a Greek WO priest speaking about the fire being faked, and the video being full of cuts. Anyone who's ever dealt with journalistic integrity should have tingling spider sense at those cuts. I could be wrong, and perhaps a Greek speaker should review the original video, but it sure looks to me like the journalist is deceiving us.
It doesn't even make any sense in principle that he would ask the priest to admit to a fraud, the priest would ask if he really needs that on camera, then tell the whole story, and accuse him afterwards because he had no idea the video would be used as evidence to make him look bad. Absurd.
What WOULD make sense is if he edited out the part where he asked the priest what it is that the doubters claim about the Holy Fire. I'd bet dollars to donuts.
Yes, I think it would be possible for the Jerusalem Patriarch to fake lighting a candle if Holy Fire stops descending on himself. I don't think it is what this video indicates.
