post scriptum: I have a lot of additional thoughts on prophecy and eschatology, especially as response to "WW3 is unfolding right now" or "there has to be a war between Israel and Iran" prophecies that usually cite New Calendarist/Sergianist "Saints" (I don't think I have to name who is pushing this garbage, especially on YouTube).

There are a lot of prophecies that were deliberately edited or censored; especially ones regarding the Soviets in Russia, which was done by Lavr Shkurla and the pro-MP faction of the ROCOR, which a good friend of mine -- the man who runs the Gregory Decapolite channel on YouTube -- personally witnessed.

It's gotten so bad with the editing of prophecies that Gregory has told me he won't believe any prophecy that was recorded after 1918 -- even if attributed to a Saint -- because the false prophecies and censorship is that widespread. Timotheos, a dearest brother of ours, has a PhD in Eschatology from Jordanville he received prior to the 2007 union: He often says prophecies -- especially regarding the end times -- should take up "one percent or less" of our mind at any given time.

St. Anatoly the Younger of Optina, St. Seraphim of Sarov and many other Saints say what will protect us from the devices of the antichrist is a strong spiritual life and God's grace that comes from the Mysteries done in His Holy Church...

What was their purpose in editing the prophecies? I can think of a reason or two but I have nothing to base it on other than paranoia. I have watched a few of the Gregory Decapolite videos but I wasn't sure what to make of them

The infamous example of a prophecy the Lavrires edited are the prophecies of St. John of Kronstadt, where he talked about the "light at the end of the tunnel" -- they tried to make it seem like the ROCOR going into communion with the MP was prophesied and blessed by the Saint.

They added references to the upcoming union with the Sergianists to a few different prophecies, including ones of the Optina Elders.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
