You misread the article. It say it is unusual to release the reasons for defrocking unless a risk for public safety. Secondly most of Rocor- Mps bishops have spoken against the war.

I did misread it, my apologies. That's on me.

As for ROCOR-MP bishops being against Putin's war, I know Ilarion Kapral and several priests of the ROCOR-MP I have personally spoken to have supported this war but I haven't seen any bishops/priests speak against it. I know of one former reader with the ROCOR-MP who even said he was afraid to voice his opposition to the war for fear of being harassed by his own bishop.

Post scriptum: I will admit the priests I have spoken to may just be influenced by the FSB pro-Putin vatnik propaganda that has become very prevalent in the English speaking world (your usual myths about Russia being this utopia that political idealists should flock to, which even Tucker Carlson is promoting) and not an official position of the ROCOR-MP.

Conversely there are True Orthodox who are buying into this same propaganda.

OH ! I guess i kind of remember that now. He issued a statement a long time ago on the war. But I had forgotten what he said !

So he was behind that press release ?

My opinion is that Russia is starting to win handily and better to jump off the pro-Ukraine bandwagon and start to think about other things to do...
I could hardly believe how easily American and Western officials, journalists, media in general, were duped. They all marched in time, blindly supporting the Ukrainian side, especially if even a little on the liberal side of the spectrum.

But everyone in Western countries put up Ukrainian flags on their property or their social media profiles.

To me, it's staggering that there was no questioning of this party line by anybody until quite recently !
