Eish, thanks and I would be interested in where in his works St. John Cassian declared it a forbidden book. Probably the massive Conferences?

I asked some modernist WO and all I found was mealy mouthed slippery slope apologies for what the Ethiopian heretics consider Canon. "It's a spectrum" Then when I call out their lukewarmness, the exact next thing I get is misplaced humor instead of care for the Soul. I'm done. The only way to be Orthodox is to be zealous for Tradition. I let the other side have its chance. And Discord is a mistake.

Yea. So, that makes a lot more sense. At one time it was probably in a purer form and has been edited. That’s why some passages seem to be prophetic and others are heretical.

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom (Luke 12:32)

I'm pretty sure it was in the Conferences... Gregory Decapolite has it in a video as an excerpt.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

To update the thread. I found the quote from St. John Cassian. It's in the Conferences, Chapters 20 through 24 in Conference 8 deal with it most directly. On the publicly available PDF I found online it's pages 160-165. It's too long to post here in entirety.
