New dome for Jordanville Monastery :
Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York, installed a new central dome on its Holy Trinity Cathedral yesterday,
replacing the original cupola that had been in place since the late 1940s.
The Russian History Museum, located on the monastery grounds, reported the installation of the fiberglass dome. The original structure, built from wood, copper, and gold leaf, was removed due to structural issues.
The Museum described it as a “once-in-a-lifetime moment” and noted it has an archival photograph showing the original dome installation from November 1947.
Holy Trinity Monastery has served as the spiritual center of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia for decades.
