After some internal struggle I have decided to listen to that "nagging voice" within me that has been for some time urging breaking with the Cafe and that other, OC.net.
The abrasiveness, attacks and counter-attacks, rumours and counter-rumours and, seemingly, ceaseless character assassination stand out. But I sense something more but cannot put my finger on it. Such a forum as this has and does in many of its' postings demonstrate that the Cafe can be a tool for the good. However the 'other' postings remind me of the text, "He that loveth his brother abideth in the light: and there is no scandal in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness and walketh in darkness. (1 John 2, 10-11); and, "If any man say: I love God, and hateth his brother; he is a liar". (1 John 4, 20}
I write this, hopefully, not in a spirit of rancour or of haughtiness, but out of fear of the consequences should my conscience not be heeded.
