This Forum has changed!

Hi,

This could be just me, but does anyone feel that this forum has changed?

When I come into this forum, their was talk about spiritual matters and guiding each other closer to Orthodoxy. Now it it sad to see that all you ever talk about is splits between churches and politics! Their is arguing, people getting offended, others getting kicked of this forum. I just cant believe it!

What ever happened to some great members like Joanne and others, who always had something spiritual to say and it was always a pleasure to read.

Are we not supposed to help others with spiritual matters, perhaps spiritual thoughts? Why dont we have on the board index something like "Spiritual Thoughts for the Day" and so on.

I used to enjoy this forum, but sadly it looks like we have missed the mark.

I wanted to write something a very long time ago, and now months later, it is still the same thing. Church splits and so on. I mean, come on, their is so much you can say on this subject.

Let's move on. Let's bring back a clean and helpful forum. This is perhaps why their is not much happening here.

Forgive me, I dont mean to offend anyone here, I am just saying how I feel.

Thanks
Angela

I'm not sure what the forum was like in the past, but overall I agree with your sentiment.

Hi

In the past we had a more spirutal site. It was a pleasure to seek and find. Unfortunatley, now it has changed. I hope the board members pick up on this and make some alterations.

Thanks

I think you are not remembering the "ROCOR-MP Pre Union war" time, that time was really sad. The Cafe was badly infected by many open and other hidden defenders of the MP-ROCOR Union, they tried to destroy this site, the worst members were those who faked to be against the Uniya (bur they were really in "Pro"), they tried to discredit the EC, finally when the union was done, they disappeared from the scene, they would surely have achieved its goal here.

Is there a forum here where we can discuss theosis, falling down and getting up again to serve the Lord.

I tire of "Orthodox" ecumenical forums who

(1) bend over backwards not to offend Catholics, when their Vatican-approved Lutheran Novus Ordo has destroyed their faith and lulled them into complacency. (I believe that we should express the truth with love).
(2) tolerate homosexuality and support groups like ocanews.org
(3) tolerate soft porn and vulgar language
(4) have a sarcastic spirit as seen in the posts of the moderators there
(5) support the Orthodox Christian Laity and their pro-masonic, anti-monastic programs (one cannot attack the OCL without a threat of banishment)
(6) tolerate masonry and support masonic members
(7) attack women who chose to veil and dress modestly, telling them to dress as their parish does and blend in. Worse, they suggest that pride is behind the desire to veil and dress with Christian modesty (avoiding miniskirts, not baring shoulders, and not revealing cleavage at church services).

Thanks goodness Euphrosynos Cafe does not engage in the above 7 points.

Thank you for your opinion, dear Maria.

Let's face it, when you have two or more people involved in something-- there's politics in it.

If we were all spiritual-minded, then we wouldn't need an internet forum. Our spiritual mothers and fathers would tell us to go home and cry over our sins and never lift up our eyes to judge others.

The problem is that we as human beings are terrible at communication. We rarely say what we mean and mean what we say. We are greedy, power-hungry empire-builders. And right now we are cornered by the Evil One in this world and the only way we seem to promote ourselves is to knock down everyone else's sand-castles.

We are little more that overgrown two-year-olds (especially myself). Why should we honestly expect any better?
