ROAC MAY LOOSE 14 CHURCH BUILDINGS IN SUZDAL REGION SOON

ROAC MAY LOOSE 14 CHURCH BUILDINGS IN SUZDAL REGION SOON
(Vertograd, Suzdal)

Court is in session concerning the Russian Orthodox Autonomous Church (ROAC) serving in 14 church buildings in the Suzdal region. The Governmental Property Agency presented to the court the argument that these church buildings cannot be used by ROAC anymore because the agreement was signed with another organization: Free Russian Orthodox Church (FROC). In fact, FROC is the old name of ROAC. The name was changed in 1998 during the re-registration at the request of the Administration of Justice.

The ROAC is a direct successor of the FROC, but the court insists that the new name was given to another organization. So, most probably the 14 churches will be taken over from ROAC. In this case, the official "competition" will be announced and the parish of any church will be able to apply for the properties. It is easy to predict that the "official" church (Moscow Patriarchate) will get them.

The churches are: St. Constantine the Great Cathedral (built in 1707), Joy of All Who Sorrow (1750 г.), Dormition (17th century), St. Lazar (1667), Holy Cross and St. Nicholas, (1770), Epiphany (1781), St. John the Forerunner (1739г.), St. Cosmas and St. Damian (1725г.) in Suzdal; Church of St. Archdeacon Steven (1780 г.) with the bell-tower (18th century.) and the fence with Holy Gates (18th century) in the village of Kideksha, St. Antipas (1745), Church of Tihkvin Icon of Mother of God (17th century) and the Church of Resurrection (17th century) in the village of Novoselki.

Here pictures of some of the Chuches Buildings which MP wants to
steal from FROC/ROAC

http://portal-credo.ru/site/?act=news&i ... &type=view

And a interesting opinion about this matter from an True Orthodox
Christian which I received by Email:

Here are some very sad news from Suzdal. The modern day Bolsheviks are back at their old game trying to kill the True Church. The Soviet church of the Moscow Patriarchate being in bed with the government (Sergianism marching forward in full bloom) is ready to gobble up 14 Churches which the government will hand it once they steal them from ROAC.

Once they took care of ROCOR, it was logical to expect that they would have moved to silence the competition within Russia. What I cannot understand is the complete apathy that the Old Calendar jurisdictions have for each other. As they say, "today is my celebration and tomorrow is yours". Today it is ROAC and tomorrow it will be some other jurisdiction. The attempts to destroy the Traditional Orthodox Church will continue with all means imaginable and if the Old Calendar movement does not weak up to stand up for its members, then it will continue to witness it's slow and painful dismemberment.

May the Lord God bring justice to a land so desperate for it and may He protect His flock and the Catacomb Church from the machinations of the unrepentant, graceless pseudo church of the MP.

time to unite

This situation could be an "attention-getter" from God to remind the TOC hierarchs of all of these many jurisdiction who profess the same faith that - along with that unity of faith - it needs to be sealed by mutual communion.

United we stand, divided we fall.

Fr. Siluan,

Are there any updates on this? How does it look?

In Christ,

Joanna

Dear Joanna:

Thank you for your question.

I heard nothing more about. Only a good news about this matter, the director of Museums and Historical places of Vladimir Region who I begin the trial against ROAC for these properties, have been accused of having deals of corruption.

Anyway, the audiences of the trial for these properties will be in August-September.

Please pray for our suffered people in Russia.

With love in Christ.
