The ROCOR's new communion

I wonder if "Fr" Ireneu Craciun of the new Greek church was ready to tell Revd (priestess) Dr (stand aside, its a doctor!) Gesa Thiessen that in order for there to be unity, she would have to admit she was herself a theological atrocity.

And this is the ROCOR's new communion. I know they would like to think they are insulated from all their new friends by distance and perhaps direct association, but unfortuantley for them, Christ's communion, His body, is not a possesion, it is a gift.

This is exactly the kind of thinking I am talking about. Unless I was there myself, or my priest, or my bishop, it has nothing to do with us, we are not a part of it.

Let me ask this question. If a man just returned from a lab where he shook hands with a man who was handling the Ebola virus with no protection, would you shake his hand? Of course not, because you have strong faith and convictions that there is danger. But you don’t really care who you are in communion with?

Exact, OOD, it is the same mistake of the Patriarch Diodoros, he put in evidence the Ecumenism, but he didn't break up communion with the ecumenists.

Brethren, alittle far-fetched here. the analogy of the lab, although a good one, misses the point completely in this instance. We could say, if we have lunch with an Evangelical, does this mean we will be on the street corner shouting at the top of our lungs. Of course not. OOD does make a good point about Christ Communion. It is a gift and I believe our brethren in ROCOR realize this everyday and my faith and prayers are with them.

What does this have to do with anything new? ROCOR has been in communion with the Serbs and JP pretty much since they left Russia, and these groups have always been in communion with Greece. So using the above logic, even if world Orthodoxy only supposedly fell a few decades ago, ROCOR would still have been in trouble for a long, long time.

And wait a minute, didn't the GOC claim to be in communion with ROCOR up through 1994... uh oh, you better get to the spiritual doctor OOD, and make sure you weren't infected through ROCOR's contact with the GOA via the Serbs ! Wait another minute, this would explain some things about the Serbs... :)

Good, the answer is that from that time much time and many events have happened. The worsening of the Ecumenical Movement is thing ´60s until here, it is not the same thing to be now in communion that to be in commuinion before. The things have changed a lot.
