so then do you just ignore the services and prayers of the Church that reference the tollhouses?

Do you believe that Apostle James is Jesus' natural brother? Blood brother. The son of the Theotokos and Joseph?

The Theotokos is ever virgin. James could have been the son of Joseph from a previous marriage (he could have been a widower), or Jesus' relative. Adelphos is the word for brother in New Testament Greek, and it has a wide semantic range. It could be blood brother, uncle, cousin or even friend. "Brother" is a loose term.
