But the Latins aren't really Romans either! So their actually niether Roman nor Catholic....

That's confusing the point. The NAME of the Church is the Roman Catholic Church whether you agree with that name or not.

Actually the official name is The Latin Catholic Church. Just like the Russian Orthodox Church's official name was Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church. There are official names and the names that are known by, not always the same.

Well, Tom to tie that back to the Latin Church if I saw a horse I'd say "Vidi equum!" :P

I prefer the term "papists." They always argue that it is a slanderous term, however there would not be any Roman Catholics if the West had not claimed Papal Primacy of Jurisdiction, Infallibility, or any of that other Roman chauvenist hocus pocus.

Don't mind "Papists" myself, but the predominately Roman family would! There are enough strains from my father's alcoholism without throwing that in!
