Its one thing to say he is "validly" "ordained" in the GOA, but that does not really mean he is still part of the GOA - unless I'm missing something.
Since a clarification is in order, I emailed Mr. Stephanou
I reveived a reply back from my inquiry:
Thank you for your E-mail. In response to your question of belonging to the Archdiocese, Fr. Eusebius Stephanou is a priest of the Greek Orthodox Achdiocese. St. Symeon's chapel is privately owned by the members of the Ministry of St. Symeon's. The Ministry is Pan-Orthodox.
My comments: Who "owns" the Church is completly meaningless. Most Old Calendar churches are uncanonically NOT owned by the bishop for fiscal reasons.
He is a priest in the GOA and is only a representative of his bishop. Unless he is some renegade who they are seeking to depose, I must believe this is sanctioned by the bishop.
Not only that, but a priest only offers the Holy Cup of his bishop, and from the pictures, it seems the Holy Eucharist is being offered to these people!
Maybe we are seeing the GOA in another 30 years.
Welcome to the Ecumenist Church ROCOR.
Now I am taking Justins advice and dropping it. :ohvey:
