I can NOT make that quotation system work !

Maria wrote : "but now they have prisoners doing so because it can be done much more inexpensively. Costs motivate the diocesan officials to engage in business with prison officials."

Are you saying that this to-the-core shocking behavior is occurring in parishes, not just this one time being played up for the leftist-liberal media ?

Has this happened, then, in Catholic parishes elsewhere ? Surely a sacrilege ?

That is the most horrible information to hear !!! I am still shuddering.
I would never tolerate that. Repulsive beyond imagining !

When you want to quote, click the | " | box on the far upper right of the post you want to quote. This will quote the entire post into a new window. Then you can use your backspace button to delete any sections you do not want to quote.

To quote someone, click |Quote| on the upper left side bar. It will provide you with [ quote][ /quote] and all you do is insert the quotation between those quotes. Note that I have added a space so that you can see the quote tags. Remove the space and you have the quote. Also on the upper left side bar you will notice these codes: B (bold), I /i, U, Quote, Code, List, List=, [*], img, URL, Flash, Normal, Font colour. Experiment with these. If you have any questions, just ask me or Matthew.

For example, [ quote="Maria"] but now ... (add the rest of the quote) [/ quote]

I am fixing your quote above so you can see how I made use of the quote tags.

Yes, in many Roman Catholic parishes, hosts are now made by prisoners, and cloistered nuns must find another way to support themselves. Some bake banana and pumpkin bread, fruitcakes, and pies. Others sell homemade jam, coffees, teas, pickled fruit, sauerkraut, preserved olives, beeswax candles, or honey.

Father Stephen bakes his own altar bread every Friday or Saturday as do many other True Orthodox priests.

Here is a very good, step-by-step, video on how to bake prosphora:

and here is a collection of more such resources, both text and other media:

Thanks for coming to my rescue with the lesson about how to do the quotations !
I thought I had done the second option, but it resulted in -- nothing.
The first option I had not known about ! Going to the actual comment and THEN clicking the ".
That's new for me. I am going to have to try and make this work.
You and Matthew are Pros, thanks for being patient with slow me.

I am aghast about this news about the hosts. I am actually shuddering ; i can't write WHERE they are now being produced.
The poor nuns, being relegated to earning small and irregular income from small-ticket items in jars or similar.
That is so unfair, when the nuns have no other way of supporting themselves. Some, like the Carmelites of Colorado Springs, have a well done website offering many religious items, books, Scapulars, etc. It has just enough of a homey atmosphere to be welcoming to the many supporters of that Carmel.

Most Catholic orders of nuns are elderly, thus are not up to date with the technology and skills for successful internet marketing. How can they pay for the upkeep of Convents, if they even live in them anymore ?
I remember when St Monica's Convent in San Francisco's Richmond district closed quite some years ago. I could not understand that at the time, but in light of such pieces of the puzzle that Maria provided, I can glimpse why that occurred.

Sunday, January 17, 2016, is less than four days away.

What precautions, if any, have been taken for the safety of Pope Francis?

5000 Muslims is an Arabic Army. And to offer them communion bread made by murderers might be considered to be offensive, and not in good taste.
