The Embassy has been unoccupied ever since that time, with the Swiss Embassy representing American interests

When the Iranian students starting jumping the compound's walls, Americans immediately started shredding sensitive documents.

The miniscule scraps that had gone thru the shredder were painstakingly collected by other students, who spent countless hours piecing the documents bac together.

An entire set of volumes were then published. I saw them on sale when I was there.

This episode has long been forgotten, but it reveals a lot.
