Dear in Christ,

Google Maps has changed their API causing directions not to work currently. Please know we are working as fast as we can to get this fixed for you convenience when traveling.

As has been said previously we are in the midst of an overhaul (and when I say overhaul I mean it) of the Map availabe on this site. ecause we are making a lot of changes I am personally asking those of you that may have information such as names, addresses or contact information for any of the parishes that may or may not be listed on the map (within the jurisdictions presently listed as a part of the map) to please either email Juvenaly or Father Nikolai with the info so we can add it to the new version.

I thank you in advance for your help in this. Also, if you know if any parishes in Europe, Asia, or anywhere outside of the US that have info and would be a good resource to add to the map please also share that info with us as well. You can email myself or Father Nikolai at the emails above or leave us a private message.

Thank you again,
Juvenaly Martinka

The new map is being uploaded today, we had to rebuild from scratch, going from Google Map API 1.0 to 2.2. Please excuse the mess today and tomorrow as we get this all working right.

Likewise new books of the month will be uploaded tonight or tomorrow. I had planned on doing them yesterday, but sometimes life gets hectic and all the dramatics get in the way.

Back on the map, I say "we" in the most un-we way possible. Really it was 99.99% Juvenaly Martinka rebuilding this for us, so I want to give him a hearty Cafe thank you!

Greetings in Christ!

As Deacon Nikolai had said the map has been updated with a few changes. The general map settings have not changed in how we view the map. There are, however, some smaller changes, such as the peg colors themselves. We have changed the peg colors to match the Synodal websites of the various synods and for the smaller groups who are a part of these Synods we used similar colors to reference them.

RED - GOC/HOTCA - Genuine Greek Orthodox Churches
GREEN - FROC/ROAC - Russian Orthodox Autonomus Church
ORANGE - MTOX - Matthewite True Orthodox Christians
BLUE - ROCiE-V - Russian Orthodox Church in Exile
PURPLE - RTOC - Tikhonite Russian True Orthodox Church

Also another change is in the ZOOM function in the map, No longer will the map auto zoom to a location as in the previous version. In the present version you can click on the church you wish to view info for and use the zoom controls on the top left hand said of the map to zoom in as close to the location as you need to go. This will allow you to control the Zoom level so you have control over the options of the map.

If you have any suggestions or questions please feel free to message me and I will be more than happy ot help you or answer our questions in any way I can.

A Quick Update on the TOC Map.

We have fixed the issue with the directions on the map in time for Nativity (I hope) as well as adding all of the new GOC/HOTCA Churches that have been mentioned in the Cafe as of yesterday (or the day before, I can't remember). Again, if anyone knows of any other parishes, monasteries, convents, Cathedrals, etc. please let me know what info you have so we can add them to the map.

May this project be a help to as ma y as it can. Remember this map is constantly being updated so check back to this thread and the map as often as possible.

In Christ,
Juvenaly
