I understand what you're saying Romionisi =) I actually didn't know that Greeks and Greeks from Cyprus considered Cypriots Greeks, but that's because I live across (way across) the pond! I was speaking more in Church terms, I guess, since they have their own sort of autonomy, to an extent (like you said). That's pretty crazy though, seeing as how Cyprus is so far from Greece and so very close to Asia Minor and the Middle East. Do Greeks still consider Anatolia and The Bosphorus/Golden Horn/Constantinople to be Greek? Or is that more of a Byzantium thing?

All Orthodox Nations except of the World, consider Byzantium Greek (Hellenic). The World considers Byzantium as the Eastern Roman Empire. (And the Romans, claim that they had no Greek Relation at all). So Hellenism elapsed itself in the middle of Asia and Europe, (Otherwords all of Modern Greece, through Ancient Greek lands, such as Asia Minor, Pontus, Caesaria, Cappadocia, Cyprus, And all the Western Ionian Aegean Islands). Now, if the people of Cyprus who speak just like the Pontians do, Ancient Ionian, with a mix of their own unique dialect are Greek, please Crucify me. It's just silly on how people would refuse history.
I'm no greek fanatic, but we can't start saying that Macedonia was slavic, when there is proof that Alexander the Great was Greek of course.
