The unfortunate thing is that it is very much prevelant amongst its members and in the priesthood. I recall once our sisterhood was raising money to help the monastery in Chili after their fire. A very Russian woman exclaimed..."why are we helping them?!? They aren't Russian!"

Maybe it is this the reason because Igumenya Iulianna remained with Met Vitaly and not in ROCOR-L, because she didn't receive support of any "nearest" priests of this jurisdiction.

I cannot answer as to the reasons Mother Julianna used to make her choice, however given the make up of Met Vitali's church, I doubt that this was one of the reasons.

Met Vitali's church is also subject to this pernicious fault, ust like all the rest..... I know this because I have friends who attend one of his parishes.

Reality Check...

I don't think Fr. Silouan is lying or intentionally trying to mislead. I've heard of similar incidents...

Rostislav:

Where on earth did I intimate that Father Siluan was lying? I said I did not agree with his assessment.

Lord, but you are an exasperating man. I would never like to live in your world....its too hate filled and negative. You never accept that a ROCOR person could actually be something nice and earnest. Your posts only serve the efforts of the .....well you know. You have done nothing with your rants that have convinced me that your are in earnest and mean well.

Lying....for Godsake man....get a life!!!!

Phyletism

Post by Jean-Serge »

Well phyletism is not not or was not ROCOR specialty, you can find it evrywhere. However, ROCOR had non russian parishes too... So I would not say that traditionnalitsm is by definition being Russian. It is really exagerated

Dear Rostislav:

I don't find appropriate to speak a lady in that way. Please, don't repeat this behavior.
