The Byzantine Churches of Istanbul

For anyone that is interested in Byzantine church architecture this is nice site. It has floor plans of 40 churches in Constantinople with accompaning photos. Unfortunately most of the churches are now used as mosques or in ruins.

Hi Daniel....

I'm not sure that you know, but there is a prophecy that Constantinople will once again become the Holiest City that it was.....

In prophecy it says that Russia will fight Turkey and will once again become Holy Catholic(universal)and Apostolic Church!

It will happen before the end of times....
And the world will see the Truth in Orthodoxy as was from the beginning of the one Christian Church......

The prophecy I speak of has been prophesied by various Saints and Fathers of the Orthodox Church..3rd century and onwards with accuracy!

I also do know of an Islamic prophecy that speaks of Constantinople ......but since that prophecy was made it did not accurately occur as was wriiten.....If anyone would like to know about it.please ask and I will show the link!
May the Lord Jesus Christ our God lead us to always be aware and with true faith know and discern the times....

I have heard those propecies before, but I have not been able tp find the Saint who said it, and thus far, in my mind, I have chalked it up to more of Greek's dreaming to regain "Constantinople" (which is just an abiding city)

The Saints that did predict the world war 3 and the rise of the Antichrist are...Sorry for the interpreting...Im reading them from a greek book .

I have read these before.

The problem I have is that many of these are cryptic. In addition, the Greek Army already took Constantinople in the 1920's (of course the West gave it back to the Turks).

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for posting that link. Yesterday, I did Hagia Sophia with my art history class. I teach in a "smart classroom", but there was no internet access because of a storm last week. I will definately use this site next week.
For anyone interested, the latest issue of Archeology magazine has a great article on the current restoration of Hagia Sophia.
