Last year, Gerontissa Siglitiki, the Abbess in charge of Saint Siglitiki in Farmingdale, NY reposed. She had came to the US from Greece shortly after Met Petros of Astoria had arrived in the US. Her monastery was established in 1977 and she would often come to St. Markella's cathedral in Astoria, NY. She was around 100 years old, may her memory be eternal.
