I was looking for an envelope for a relative's birthday card [ the original had been an ugly chartreuse color ] when I suddenly caught sight an abomination - yes in the greeting card section !

There were placards to demarcate the various categories such graduation, wedding, etc. I thought i had misread this particular one. I looked again and indeed it read :

"two men in love"

I stared, appalled, at the greeting card in this category which read: [/color]

"For Mr. & Mr."
2 champagne glasses with some sort of party decor constituted the illustration.

Isn't this just disgusting ??? I hadn't much looked at a card section in awhile. This aberration must have snuck up during that interlude.

Good point, that distorted form of address strikes me afresh as really weird when reading bac over that post ! I remember the revulsion i felt and can see myself exactly where i was standing in the main aisle of the store. I almost never went bac to that store ever since !
It was a Big Lots, so this demonic card was probably not bought by ANYBODY at the store where it originated and was turned over to this company which i think buys up leftover stuff that major stores don't want.

However, instead of putting it on the floor, an employee should have weeded that card out and put it directly into the nearest trash !
Better, to have burned it.

Well strangely enough, not long after the thread got resurrected, news has spread that Big Lots went into bankruptcy and was sold.
Something like 340 stores are being closed, a large number.
The local one where i found that odious card is among that group [maybe as a result of that poor choice of greeting cards sold there ! Just kidding - kind of.]
