Recent UMP book on heterodox 'baptism'

This comes from the Peter Heers camp. It has generated a lot of conversation.

Has anyone here on the Cafe read it? What are its problems? I vaguely remember reading on world orthodox review of it whose slant was that it isn't as solidly based in the real consensus of the Fathers after all ("sectarian")

From what I heard its a really good book. The problem is they're fighting a losing battle.

So, if I understand, the book dovetails well with how True-Orthodox bishops actually understand baptism, while ecumenist world-orthodox bishops would see it as an affront to their branch theory neo-ecclesiology?

I haven't read it, but as I understand, it's uncontroversial on our end

Exactly. WO are fighting the "reception by ecumenism" beast and this book is addressing that problem they're dealing with.

My godson does own the book and I did read sections of it, but not in full. It does seem rather good but I will say, I think the FFW obsession about baptism is a bit misplaced. Not to be rude or dismissive towards them, but say FPH when he wants to bring back to the dismissal of catechumens or refuse to commune women that wear make up (even outside of Church), it seems like a "cope" for not having bishops who actually are Orthodox. This whole business of being against Chrismation and wanting to do "corrective baptisms" seems to fall within that category as well.

Please give the definition of the acronyms. What on earth are FFW and FPH? New political parties?
