Re: Top Chess Sites aimed at Learning & Playing
If you're looking for actual ones, Chess dot com has the online play, the ELO rankings, tutors, puzzles etc. I prefer Lichess if I do feel like playing Chess myself personally. I know Vladyka Andronik used to be a really good Chess player and he will still do tutoring here and there...
I know there's a Canon against monks playing chess, but another interesting thing I heard over the years (this one from my brother who is an IM) is that St. Tsar Nicholas II funded and organized the first chess tournaments in Europe back in the early 20th century. So Chess being as popular as it is today has a lot to do with St. Tsar Nicholas II!

I was joking a little, but it doesn't come across too well in text. We Brits enjoy our sarcasm
I've used chess.com before and it was pretty decent.
Interesting fact about St. Nicholas!

Interestingly, if you check the rudder, it appears that according to the interpretation of Saint Nikodemos, even laypeople are forbidden from playing chess.
