Those who criticise this move obviously know nothing about what is happening in the Synod, and believe everything they read in print about what is happening in Russia and the MP.

Jurisdictional change appears to be de rigeuer in the United States... to an outside observer (ie non-USA based), it's almost like you arent Orthodox in the USA unless you jurisdiction hop (using whatever flavour-of-the-month issue as an excuse to justify the hop.)

In the metropolitan area near where I live, the priests from three of the 4 or 5 ROCOR parishes have recently "hopped" jurisdictions, all for unrelated reasons.

Our problems in the Synod stem from our relationship; or rather lack of relationship with the MP. This also affects how other juristictions view us.
Some in the Church Abroad feel that the mandate to exist outside of the MP is over, or should be over soon, including myself. There are others who I feel will never want to see reconciliation with the MP.
I have not heard that Bishop Gabriel has forbidden communion at the monastery by ROCOR members, although I am sure there are some who would like that.

I'd think you're in the majority of laymen priests and heirarchs there. Otherwise the ROCA wouldn't've called for the Great Russian Council or asked the Serbians to help set up diologue for the ROCA to be absorbed by the MP.
