Of course, a Christian cannot be selfish... However, the core message of Orthodoxy is not "humanitarianand social aid". or it would be a secular and Godless orthodoxy... Actually, the ecumenist meetings failed to reach a doctrinal consensus... Since they have to do something to exist, they are now developping the concept of humanitarian and social aid, which is in fact Godless because it can be done without religious convictions but simply humanist conviction... But the church's MAIN aim is not feeding those who are hungry... It is saving people's souls by letting them know the Truth...
This focus on social issues is another sign of apostasy... We must remind Saint Paul's Epistle to Corinthians... "If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing." And love cannot be separated from Truth, doctrinal truth...
So these people with their christian cooperation to fight poverty may be with good intentions but finally they are "only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal" because their love is a parody of love since there is no truth
