As a gentle nudge, economy, discretion, "common sense" in application of the Canons are the province of our pastors, who interpret them as is necessary to our spiritual states and living circumstances, BUT CANNOT ABOLISH THEM. We do not have the charismatic authority to "judge" the Canons. More importantly, in reference to the cause of this canonical discusson, if someone were to pursue a spiritual court to divest the Georgian Patriarch of his dignities or censure him for violating the Canons, I would be the first to say that that was good and proper...

In general, just as I don't celebrate the Pasch with the Jews, I do go out of my way to prefer gentile physicians, especially Orthodox Christian ones (although some are former Jews), but I have no real problems accepting treatment from physicians who are practicing Jews, albeit I do ask my Priest's blessing to do so.
