If I were to quote all that I want in this chapter I would be quoting a full page of the book, so instead I will summorize the page I want to quote.

The Angel tells Stavrophila examples of people in the Holy Sriptures who have been in sin and because of suffering return to God, King David, King Nebuchadnezzar, King Mannasseh, and the Prodigal son.

The suffering of the Cross opens our eyes to what is going on in us, giving us an oportunity to repent. But so often we justify rather than repent. As a protestant I thought of repentance as simply saying I'm sorry, not realy trying to not do it again, but also I thought that Holyness was somthing that God did all by Himself in me and all I had to do was... nothing? Lord have mercy on me a sinner!
