I noticed that the article said the WCC's 9th assembly will meet next year (2006). That will be worth close scrutiny.

I wonder if there will be a new, even more ecumenically-minded pope by then. Is it possible to be more ecumenically-minded than JPII?

Are you all aware of the United Religions Initiative, the brainchild of Episcopal Bishop William Swing of California, who is evidently a frequent visitor to the Vatican?
