Stavrophila: I see now that the cross is not only helpful with prayer, but almost forces one out of necessity to run to God.

Stavrophila: Therefore as far as I understand, it is a very bad sign if a man who has suffered grief does not turn to God but lives as he lived before without amendment.

The cross with all of it's troubles is designed to bring us in prayer to God. It is a natural reaction to turn to God when in grief, and unnatural to reject God because of grief. We see this happening more and more day by day. Lord have mercy on me! May I ever runto you the author and finisher of my faith.
