Shoot JFK Yourself...with respect of course.

There is a new video game out that is making headlines...

"JFK Reloaded" is being called "despicable" by a spokesman for Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy, the late president's brother.

Yet Kirk Ewing, managing director of the Scottish game company Traffic, insists he and his team have nothing but respect for JFK, as well as history.

They have "nothing but respect"!

"We believe that the only thing we're exploiting is new technology," Ewing told Reuters, explaining the game was designed to undermine the belief there was a clandestine plot behind the assassination. "We believe passionately there was no conspiracy."

The objective is to fire three shots at Kennedy's motorcade in Dallas from assassin Lee Harvey Oswald's sixth-floor perch in the Texas School Book Depository, all of which has been digitally re-created.

This reminds me of people saying they have "nothing but respect" for Christ and the Holy Fathers, yet at the same time, feel it is not only their right, but their duty to contradict and overturn them whenever the mood strikes; and then defend the actions with some line like the one above.

As someone who is "liberal" when it comes to things like this, such a game disgusts me. No matter what you thought of JFK, he was a man who meant alot to Americans and who has living siblings and a child who shouldn't have to put up something like this.

But then again, theoretically, you have to ask would you feel the same if the target was Fidel Casto or Saddam, after all, they all have living family.

That's a good question Ania, because we certainly should. The only thing we know about any of these men is what the biased, misguided and often incorrect media tries and often succeeds to drill into our minds. After all, what is wrong with Fidel Castro that would make anyone want to shoot him? Who really even knows him? And there is a good possibility that Bush has killed many more Iraqi's than Saddam Hussein, certainly more Americans and Iraqi woman and children. And in the name of "Freedom"? Please.

Mass media and high ideas are very dangerous things.

I have to wonder how else it is possible that we can make a "game" out of killing anyone.
