High Tech Passports

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Here is a REALLY good history lesson TRUST when I say a " HISTORY" lesson http://www.hermes-press.com/brainwash1.htm

Pavlov, Colby, and Skinner... have all been widely discredited with regards to human cognition, which has proven to be more complex than any of the species they studied. Further, claiming that everyone is being brainwashed denies our own complicity in apostasy, and human free will. Yes, Madison Avenue is persuasive, but rhetoric is as old as civilization and discernment has always been a virtue. I'm not saying things are all right with the world, but there are important ways in which "the spirit of the times" is not responsible for our behaviour.

Also, the "sign of satan" you point to is also a gesture meaning bull plop in some cultures, particularly Texas, and in any case, hand gestures have contextual meanings that are not always obvious. There may well be a "sign of satan", but I would hesitate before pointing it out, without having some inside information

Just to provide some information: The "sign" that you have referred to, Artemon, is also the American Sign Language sign for "I Love You" in which the hand is showing the signs for the letters "I" "L" and "Y" together. Here are links on this, both the ASL alphabet and the sign itself in a short clip:

The ASL alphabet: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/language/asl/abc/
The sign clip: http://commtechlab.msu.edu/sites/aslweb/browser.htm

I have seen a number of people sign "I love you" to crowds.
