Peter,

The quotes most directly relate to what later became the HOCNA(Holy Orthodox Church in North America) and some of the various Greek old calendarists(though not all). The mentality he speaks of still exists though, and has probably become even more prevalent in the various "true" groups. Unfortuately, it seems the "super correct" made an impact on ROCOR they are still recovering from...though most of the super-correct have already left ROCOR.

Although I don't think HOCNA formed before he passed, I can admit there is allot of truth to that.

What I think I have found however, is that "super-correctness" is a tendency among individuals, and not so much the Bishops. Of the groups who I can think of who formed, I can't think of any who stated "super-correctness" as anything but a smoke screen. This applies to HOCNA because they were not originally Bishops, they were a group of priests.

"Super-correctness", and I have at times found myself thinking along those lines, is definatley worrisome - much of it is pride.

If you replaced the word "super-correct" with "pride", then I would say this is what accounts for 95% of the schisms among "traditionalists" today.
