(RNS) San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has rejected criticism from state lawmakers over the use of morality clauses for Catholic schoolteachers, asking whether they would “hire a campaign manager who advocates policies contrary to those you stand for?”

The archdiocese sparked protests earlier this month when it unveiled morality clauses for four Catholic high school handbooks as well as for teacher labor contracts.

The handbooks single out church teaching against homosexual relations, same-sex marriage, abortion, artificial birth control and “reproductive technology,” women’s ordination, pornography, masturbation and human cloning, according to the National Catholic Reporter.

I shudder at the sight of that publication.
But I read various headlines about his courageous stand and was VERY IMPRESSED ! Thank God that someone holding the line against all the evils - and living in such a nest of them, too ! - was selected as Archbishop of San Francisco, replacing the weak, very liberal predecessor, Niederauer,.

Looking up Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone on wikipedia, one notes the welcome change from the vast majority of Catholic clerics today :

"On September 20, 2009, Cordileone offered a Missa Pontificalis, or Pontifical High Mass, in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite at Saint Margaret Mary Church in Oakland. This was the first time a Pontifical High Mass was offered in Northern California since the 1970s liturgical changes. Cordileone gladly celebrates Mass in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite, also called the Tridentine Mass."

St Margaret Mary was the only parish in the gigantic Bay Area permitted to have the Tridentine Mass celebrated there.
That itself was an amazing slight and Is Outrage !

Well, combining his names, let us hope he will be a salvation of the Catholic Church in a time when almost no voices are raised to stop the tide of evil washing through. To accomplish such a large order, he will need the heart of a lion, his last name's translation from Italian !
And good health and stamina to fight all the evils mustered against him.

By the way, this Archbishop actually speaks Latin, too ! Quite rare today for any of the Catholic prelates, according to an article some years ago. It used to be that the Cardinals would converse in Latin at their meetings. Now few know enough Latin to be comfortable enough to do so.

In an article dated Feb 27, 2015, we learn that the brave Archbishop Cordileone has in fact MASSIVE resistance.

Sam Singer’s public relations firm spun a Chevron oil refinery disaster in California and fought back a legal ruling in Ecuador that could have awarded billions of dollars to indigenous people for the company’s alleged pollution damage to the Amazon.

Now he’s been hired to attack San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone. He even wants Pope Francis to do his work.

“Everyone is praying that the Pope will remove the San Francisco Archbishop and these priests,” Singer said in a Google+ post on Feb. 18, Ash Wednesday.

San Francisco Catholic Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has descended to the moral depths.
Note that it's exactly 10 years later since the earlier posts.

LOOK what he has done !
On the Russian Christmas, TOO, this year !

WHO got to him ??

I won't copy the pictures over so no one has to be offended, but it's quite terrible.

"Cordileone at synagogue's interfaith blessing

...we see the Archbishop of San Francisco Salvatore Cordileone speaking at an interfaith blessing of Daniel Lurie that took place on January 7, 2025, one day before Lurie was sworn in as Mayor of San Francisco.

The gathering was at the Reform Synagogue Congregation Emanu-El, a building constructed with the financial collaboration of Lurie's grandfather and where his father rabbi Brian Lurie often preaches.

Representatives of the different beliefs in San Francisco were invited to speak; first row below, Cordileone is seen between two menorahs awaiting his turn, and second row, finally speaking. Then, rabbi Lurie gave an emotional blessing to his son. Next, all the religious representatives – including the Archbishop of San Francisco – gave a collective blessing to the new Mayor.

Then it was the turn of Daniel Lurie to speak. He promised to continue to make San Francisco a city where he LGBT group can live without fear.

He also mocked those who think that homosexuality attracts the ire of God and natural plagues and disasters.

His speech received a standing ovation, with Cordileone rising with the others, last row.

So, besides taking part in a syncretistic ceremony in which all beliefs were placed on equal footing under the hegemony of the Jewish synagogue, Cordileone also applauded the full support Lurie promised for homosexuality in its more extravagant forms that are included in the acronym LGBT."

I was fearing the venue in question must be THIS location, which is situated at the prominent intersection of Arguello and Lake Streets, in a good neighborhood

From wikipedia :
"Congregation Emanu-El of San Francisco, California is one of the three oldest Jewish congregations in California, and one of the largest Jewish congregations in the United States. A member of the Union for Reform Judaism, Congregation Emanu-El is a significant gathering place for the Bay Area Jewish community"

Like Father Steven Allen said (if I recall correctly)in that old interview, the modernist hierarchs may try to appear outwardly conservative in relation to things such as homosexuality, for instance, "they'll say a little bit, but they will not make an effective resistance because they know who their masters are." (20:18)

He is referring to World Orthodoxy but the same would still apply to any outwardly conservative group. Anybody who wants to challenge things like ecumenism while within these modernist hierarchies are usually silenced, and hence this is one of the reasons the Holy Fathers tell us to hold no communion with heretics!

Refresh my memory : this was a GOOD video which was removed by a World Orthodox youtube channel at the demand of their Abp ?
I remember the incident, but I've forgotten the particulars.

Or it was removed by Fr Peter Heers himself ? But he doesn't HAVE any hierarch as far as we know so I guess it's not that.

I can see what you mean, though, in general. GOOD point !
