In earlier times, the care of children was more entrusted to the women. Now there tends to be a more shared responsibility for children. But then again I do think crying rooms are great ideas for parishes.

There is ideal, which ends up more monastic, and then there is practical, which is respectful but not necessarily to the letter of the law. Most parishes have to examine what they need to cultivate their people in piety, but organs are definitely a no. Pews to the iconostasis are a no. There should ...

When there is no room for a kliros and pews are right up to the iconostasis, don't you think? Pews around the walls and some chairs towards the middle, within reason, is not optimal, but that is our life here and can make sense sometimes.
