greetings from one who is likely to become another refugee thanks to the (IMO) heretical decisions of the admins at the other place. Don't know if I will be returning here or not, but just wanted to post and say I was glad that I am not alone in my misgivings. Joe Zollars I hope you do return here....

Dear Tessa, I also have drug addicts in my imediate family and the perversity and almost demonic responce to holy things by your mother is not uncommon in my expirience. I think you are correct in defining it as a kind of almost demonic possesion. For example, once the drug addict in my family poure...

Are you serious? Well, wasn't Vladika Lazar in the Rocor, until he left? And joined the Kiyvian "Patriarchate"? I am not sure what your point is. He joined a parade of juristictions before being accepted into the OCA if I am not mistaken. AND WHAT? HE attacked Saint Seraphim of Platina? A...

She is my wife's grandmother who was just diagnosed with stomach cancer and was told that she has only 3 months of life left. My wife and inlaws are devastated because she was more of a mother to all of them ...

I'm not sure what Savva24 meant by that but I would like to add a few comments. Actually, I don't think I disagree with you. Your comments just struck me as a little sentimental on first reading and I was attempting to be funny. Seriously though, I really don't see any benenfit in the Church issuin...

I think it is completely reasonable to issue a laxing of a fast on these days. Call me a modernist but so what. These holidays mean something to Americans and are part of our culture. And culture should never be made to conflict with Orthodoxy unless it goes against the faith (such as cannibalism o...
