There really is not too much out there. I know he was 80 but there is nothing about how he fell asleep. Is there a better source than this?

He went back to his quarters to nap after Liturgy and he simply died in his sleep.

He anathemized himself and than died almost immediately after without been given much time at all for repentence. Not that exactly the way that most of us pray that we shall depart to our judgement.
Theophan.
Dear Theophan:
You say that Vladika Lavr anathemized himself and then died a damned soul.... well I see it differently. I say he died a blessed death. He got to go to church. He got to serve a liturgy. He got to receive communion. And then he passed peacefully in his sleep... a blessed death ... one that all of us could wish for.
Keep in mind that the manner of our lives determines the manner of our death. May God be more lenient in His judgement of you than you have been of His servant.
Lent is a time of repentance and forgiveness. It is a also time when the Church calls upon us to pray for the dead. It would have been better for you to pray earnestly for your "enemy" than to go and villify him with your words.
Vechnaya Pamyat to Vladika Lavr.
