Writings on the Liturgy

Post by Грешник »

Where in the Writings of the Fathers (links please) can I find an outline of the Liturgy of the Orthodox Church? I am trying to explain "Liturgical Worship" and am in need of sources as to its beginnings. Yes, I know of the model of the Old Testament but I am looking for more in depth writings and "proofs".

Thank you.

St. Justin Martyr describes the Liturgy of his day ... i forget which writing, perhaps his first apology.

You should read Saint Nicolas Cabasilas and his "commentary of the Divine Liturgy". It exists in French; so an English version is surely available.
