This is an outrage! St. Philaret was outspoken in his writings that the MP was without grace. This is just adding insult to injury, considering how his incorrupt relics were deliberately washed with wine, to discolor them, and then immediately re-interred; the laity being forbidden to venerate them. Now they give the saint's vestments to the Sergianists?! These turncoats have no shame!

I know that Abbess Euphonia of Serbia and Fr Augustine both venerate St Philerat as a saint but has he actually been glorified by any Greek Jurisdiction?

Sean I disagree with you about a lot but everything you have written there I totally support. This action of the Lavrites is truelly disgusting, they are worse much worse than Met Sergius himself!

Generally speaking the Russians let the Greek Church glorify Greeks and the Greeks let the Russian Church glorify Russians, as these are the Churches that knew their people. The ROAC glorified Saint Philaret the Confessor of New York, and to many I know in the GOC, that is enough.

Earlier this year in ROAC there was a movement by some in a theological commission to glorify Abp Chrysostomos I, but out synod said to leave that to the GOC and when they glorify him, we will count him as a saint.

There are exceptions to the local church doing the glorifying first, but this is the usual order of things.
