Wierd translation of names

Post by Nektarios14 »

I just got the Orthodox New Testament a few weeks ago, and I REALLY like it. The commentary is very helpfull and for the most part I like the translation. What I am curious about though is how some names are Greek while some are Englsih, does anybody know they did this? i.e James is rendered Iakovos while John and Paul arn't Ioanni and Pavlos. Not that this is that big of a deal, but I am curious if there is any particular reason for this?

In the first section on page 563 (Volume 1) they discuss this. :)
