My point was that to imitate Christ and follow the Golden Rule, to be God-ly, one must express a spiritual optimism. Faith itself is a state of optimism, is it not? Do we not pray for and even at times expect the very best, for ourselves, for others, and for the whole world, even in spite of sin? I am not saying that faith is theosis, nor am I saying that God the Trinity may be known or circumscribed by any intellectual means. St. Dionysios say that we know God by agnosia, unknowing. But faith, as the Apostle St. Paul says, is the evidence of things not seen, which I take to mean not apprehended by any physical sense. I certainly intended no blasphemy when I made the "optimist" comment. One must indeed be very careful when making theological statements, not to make them vainly or lightly.
