Since some people have posted in Russian, I was wondering how many here actually speak, understand, read or write it.The poll isn;t very thorough, so feel free to explain what you know in a reply. God Bless!
Can you read, write, speak or understand Russian/Slavonic?

I can read and write Russian. Slavonic is a different story. Oh, and the catch is, I can read and write it, but I don't understand it. I can pronounce it fairly well, without much of an accent, or so I'm told by Russian and Ukranian friends at Church. They should really have Russian classes at Russian or Russian-descended parishes
Slavonic
I hope that someday I will learn it. One note though, my husband (who is from Russia), has trouble with Slavonic-especially translating it into english for me. He usually just tells me what the text means in general, he says its too difficult to translate it straight out.
From what I understand from most native speakers, it is similar to us trying to read old english!
