Hi, All,

Bill Mouser here. I just wanted to tell you about an
effort of Christians in America to "adopt" each and
every military person to pray for them individually
as America prepares to go to war with Iraq.

To register a military person you know, click
http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org/addtroop.php.
No personal or confidential information will be
required.

To "adopt" a military person (one will be assigned
to you) click

http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org/adoptatroop.php

(Or go to

http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org/adoptatroop.php.)

This effort is supported by the coalition of
military chaplains and leaders, including a former
Army Chief of Staff. It is organized by The
Presidential Prayer Team.

To join The Presidential Prayer Team, go to
http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org.

I have 'adopted' a soldier and his family, non-Orthodox I presume, for whom I shall pray privately and not liturgically. In the Divine Liturgy we pray for the peace of the whole world. To maintain this peace we have an army. During WW2, St Serafim of Vyritsa and Blessed Matrona (amongst others) prayed for the soldiers in the Soviet Army fighting the Germans.

I live in the Soviet of Seattle, where anything Christian or conservative is seen as the common enemy. This is reminiscent of Russia in 1905 and it does not take much to understand that our local peace marchers are stirred up by the left-wing agitators. These people march not only against war (they were silent when Serbia was bombed) but against the family and basic Christian values. With rings in their noses and other unmentionable places, they promote same-sex marriages, pornography, abortions, feminism and all that is degenerate in the US.

I also see that some Orthodox are also involved in these demonstrations as they were in Russia. These same 'Orthodox' went to set up the Living Church.

Whether history will repeat itself in the USA, God only knows. In the meantime I will serve the Divine Liturgy and pray for our armed forces and for our government.

Yours in Christ,

Fr Serafim

Great words!

Father Bless!

Dear Father Serafim, thank you for those words. We needed to hear them I feel.

They ring very true and as we saw on the news today the prof. arrested for being part of terrorist groups and getting them financed in America was a big part of these anti-war protest organizations. Not only Terrorist groups are, but they are also being organized by the Communists and immoral leftist groups.

Most of the anti-war protestors are not anti-war per say, but rather anti-America, anti-Capitalism, as well as anti-morals and anti-God.

I love the concept of "adopting" a soldier. They and their families need our prayers very much.

Kissing your right hand,
-Nicholas

Bless, Father.

One cannot have peace without war when evil men rule parts of the world. Evil must be obliterated and we all must pray. One must not fall in bed with communists and pagans or stand by and watch evil happen to others.

I'm saving both this post and your post at oc.net. Priceless.

Pray for the troops!

I think its time we stop arguing merits of the war and start praying for our brave men and women liberating Iraq from its evil dictator who considers himself a student of Stalin.

As a "foreigner"...

Post by Seraphim Reeves »

As a non-American, I pray for peace, and that the current hostilities be of as short duration and as minimal as is possible. I pray in particular for the people of Iraq, particularly the old, women, and children, that they will not become faceless "collateral damage".

In short, may the body count be low (on all fronts), and may this not turn into the mess that I fear it easily could.

I live in the Soviet of Seattle, where anything Christian or conservative is seen as the common enemy. This is reminiscent of Russia in 1905 and it does not take much to understand that our local peace marchers are stirred up by the left-wing agitators. Father, bless!

Unfortunatly, this is the situation of much of the anti-war movement. Seeing as I was vehemently against what NATO did to Serbia, I feel my position in this situation is consistant. Nor can I allow any sort of "guilt by association" deter me from a principled stand against neo-con warmongering, or it's Zionist underpinnings.

I also see that some Orthodox are also involved in these demonstrations as they were in Russia. These same 'Orthodox' went to set up the Living Church.

Well, I do not consider myself Orthodox in quotations, and I am dead set against the Pax Americana/Zionist delusions of the Bush and Perle set. It's a lonely place to be, but I'd prefer to be where conscience dictates, rather than be (as far as I'm concerned) wrong, but well within popular sentiment.

Seraphim
