Post by TomS »

I know that you are not supposed to have wine, but are you allowed to have hard Liquor on Wed and Fridays (i.e. Vodka, Rum, Ouzo!)

No Alcohol Allowed

I have been taught that in addition to meat, dairy, eggs and olive oil, all alcohol should be fasted from on Wednesdays, Fridays and other designated fasting periods.

Also, getting drunk on fast days doesn't really seem appropriate!

Yeah, you hold it in a brown paper bag! :P

Although I have no idea what fasting has to do with the north vs. the south.

hmm. I don't know either. just saying most of the time I was in the south I never saw a drunkard (save my carpetbagger cousins), of course I can't recall seeing a truly sober individual either. I have heard for some of us we think better when were a bit on the intoxicated side, says sarcastically in holier than thou tone of course I being the son of an ex southernbabtist minister would have no experience in this area. :ohvey:

I am not talking about getting stinkin' drunk. I am talking about having a drink out at dinner or such.
