Finally got these to work. [ It took 2 experts to figure it out. ]

Must have been the special day of Archbishop Tikhon [Troitsky]'s repose that brought everything to fruition after weeks of trying !

Pictures from a pilgrimage July 2016 to the Russian Embassy Church [ second picture ], the crypt of which the tomb of Abp Seraphim [Sobolev] lies [ top picture ].

Is this another fake saint created by the MP?

Do you have any biographical details on AB Seraphim Sobelev?

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Excellent question. I am looking into this. So far it seems that solid biographical details are decidedly lacking, whereas stories of miracles ascribed to Ab Seraphim's intercession constitute by far the lion's share of the material on this enigmatic hierarch.

I did notice, however, a few points of note. In 1920, while still in Russian territory before emigration due to the Bolshevik Revolution, Archimandrite Seraphim was elevated to the episcopal rank in.... Simferopol Cathedral. Presumably this is where the concocted relics of Abp Luke rest.

Worse by far, however, is the rare fact which emerged when the Moscow Patriarchate's Sofia Podvorie sent in its recommendation for Abp Seraphim [ Sobolev ] to be glorified.
The Podvorie [ presumably St Nicholas chapel, underneath the Soviet Embassy, a nest of KGB operatives ] wrote - as if it was admirable instead of deplorable - that this hierarch 'refused' to participate in the Rocor Synod of Bishops Council of October 21 - 26, 1943. Where was the conference that year ? VIENNA.

We next see him defecting to the Moscow Patriarchate on June 16, 1945, together with his followers.
No explanation is given for the treacherous move. QUITE SUSPICIOUS indeed.

3 years later from the time of those 2 photos of the crypt, there will be a church dedicated to Abp Seraphim [Sobolev ], locally named St Seraphim of Sofia the Wonderworker.

"A new church in honor of one of the 20th century’s great Holy Hierarchs is set to be built in ... Sofia, according to a report prepared by Mayor Dimitar Dimov, reports stolica.bg.

St. Seraphim (Sobolev) labored in the Bulgarian capital for the last 29 years of his life and is known throughout Bulgaria, and beyond, as ardent defender of the purity of the Orthodox faith and a wonderworker.

His relics are housed and venerated in the St. Nicholas Russian Church in central Sofia.

The proposal passed to the Committee for Culture and Education on Monday, and council members are set to vote on granting approval to begin construction on the Church of St. Seraphim of Sofia the Wonderworker today. The church is to be allotted a total space of 23,616 sq. ft., with the church building itself taking up 2,798.6 sq. ft.

St. Seraphim (1881-1950) stands a link uniting the Bulgarian and Russian Churches. He was a hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, though in the spring of 1921, he moved to Bulgaria, where he remained to the end of his days.

Living in ceaseless ascetic endeavor, from abstinence and difficult living conditions, Vladyka contracted tuberculosis. Despite his serious illness, he cared for his flock with true pastoral fervor. He served frequently and gave sermons three times a week, calling his flock to repentance, to grace-filled reformation and to the most basic virtue—Christian humility. Especially noteworthy were St. Seraphim’s sermons on Forgiveness Sunday, when, after his appeal, many people who had quarreled with each other for years tearfully begged forgiveness of one another."
