Dear Handmaiden,

Please talk with your priest.

The Hawaiian Iveron icon of the Theotokos is a myrrh-streaming icon and it is only a "paper print."

The Lord understands. Very few people can afford "real icons" written by monks and members of the clergy as they usually cost over $300.00.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

What makes an Icon Holy is WHO is represented. Even if the representation is not artistically great. If you cut photos out calendars and mount them, that is fine.

“What exactly are you here for?”

“…To see with eyes unclouded by hate.”

Thanks so much Maria and Philaret for clarifying this for me. :)
