My point is that in the absence of any synod condemning the New Calendarists and actually applying canonical penalties to them, they could be dealt with economia.

After that, they were strictly condemned by the resulting synod and were treated with Akrivia.

New Calendarist Romanian parishes were never given economia by the Old Calendarists. True Orthodox Christians under obedience to the Old Calendarist priests avoided these heretics like the plague, and their lack of monetary support to the New Calendarists was felt so much so, that these True Christians were reported to the Freemasonic authorities, and then rounded up and arrested.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Again, please read the biographies of St. Glicherie and St. Matthew, both men and their parishes suffered greatly for the faith.

Thousands of parishioners, deacons, and priests bravely faced inhumane prison conditions, which included being stripped naked, having facial hair being pulled out by the roots along with the flesh, starved with no food or water, drugged with psychoactive drugs that left permanent disabilities, deprived of sleep, and enduring beatings where death would have been too kind. Instead in an attempt to revive them for more beatings, they were given a little sleep along with some paltry food that often contained gravel. Then the beatings continued with hopes that they would reveal the hiding places of their friends, relatives, and priests. Finally after months of this horrible suffering, they suffered martyrdom.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

I am not speaking of parishes, but of holy orders. A New Calendar Romanian bishop before 1955 was not under any synodical condemnation by any canonical authority. Therefore the OC hieromonks like Fr. Glicherie could receive them into the OC movement in Romania with their orders intact. That’s the point.

And that is exactly what St. Matthew did. As a hieromonk, St. Matthew received through absolution three repenting Greek New Calendarist Bishops. No doubt, St. Glicherie conferred with St. Matthew and followed St. Matthew's example.

That’s possible, but speculation.

St. Matthew and St. Glicherie had time to talk during their brief visit. Both were in a similar situation of persecution; both had already suffered much for the faith with scars on their bodies; and no doubt, both were sharing ways of preserving the faith. This is what clergy do when in dire times.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
