Poll Request: Should We Have a Forum on "Sharing the Faith?"

The practice of living the life in Christ: fasting, vigil lamps, head-coverings, family life, icon corners, and other forms of Orthopraxy. All Forum Rules apply. No polemics. No heated discussions. No name-calling.

Thank you for your input, Father. Much to consider here. We have a lot of documents already, so people can link to them. References are important.

I suppose we can use the search feature to find these quickly and form links to them in our posts on these topics...

I guess I am wrong, but it seems that the Inquiring Into Orthodoxy subforum could be made part of this ? Or do you like it better where it is ?

I think it is better to have a forum specifically for inquirers, and a forum for us to discuss evangelism.

Not that I have a vote, but that is how I see it. :D

Several members have already expressed the wish to keep the forum for inquirers that we currently have in Living the Faith Forum. They like their safe place.

But, Father Irineos, I think everyone here is entitled to vote. Everyone's thoughts are needed and worthy of consideration.

Indeed. Others have expressed that they do not want any more forums as our list is quite long, but threads on evangelism have ended up all over the board, usually in Praxis.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Rather than having a separate forum on Sharing the Faith, we could include Sharing the Faith in an overarching forum called Ministry, and then include various ministries in the Church. This will overlap with Praxis.

And this might be too overwhelming, so I welcome suggestions.

Orthodox Christian Ministries

ANSWERING CHRIST'S CALL TO THE MINISTRY

  • 1. Serving Christ in the Ordained Ministry (Priesthood, Diaconate, Subdiaconate, Reader)

    1. Singing in the Choir (Serving at the Cantor's stand)

    2. Serving Christ in the Domestic Church (Holy Matrimony)

    3. Answering Christ's Call to Monasticism

    4. Serving Christ as a Catechist to Adults and Children

SHARING THE FAITH through Evangelism (threads on Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism, Islam, etc.)

SHARING ONE'S TALENTS THROUGH THE SACRED ARTS

  • 1. Iconography

    1. Making Altar Bread, Altar Wine, Beeswax Candles, Incense, and Olive Oil

    2. Constructing Vestments and Clothing for Altar Servers, Monks, Priests, and Bishops

    3. Creative Woodworking and Construction: Chanter's Stands, Altars, Iconostasis, and Churches

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
