Abp. Sophrony & Clergy (ROCA) Respond to Met. Agafangel

This is a brief biography of Michael Pashkovsky( Agafangel) before he was ordained in Rocor. It may explain behavioral preferences of the man.
Born in 1956 in Odessa( Ukranian Soviet Socialist Republic)
Active member of the Communist Youth League .
Unsuccessfully tried to established himself as an artist.
Divorced . Ex-wife and daughter immigrated to Israel.
This is a pretty regular biography of a postsoviet middle aged man.
One exception - he actually claims to be an orthodox bishop .
Met Agafangel is also a founder of " situational ecclesiology "- a nebulous mess that varies on daily if not hourly basis.

Can you back up these accusations with the sources of this information, where is all this stuff your saying found, and if so, who is the author of these accusations? Igor, whoever you are [...]. No true GOC-K member would be spreading this ... dung. Sounds like you have problems with ROCA and are just spreading slanders

Edited to remove a personal attack.

Dear Kostacc,

Please be careful. If someone violates a rule as in the case above,
then please report it, so that the moderators can look more closely into the thread.

Igor

That last sentence is funny. But sad, of course. ... [edited to remove gossip and speculation]

Igor, this does border on slander and gossip, especially the last two lines.

Please provide substantiation for your claims or retract this statement.

Thank you to both Maria and Kostacc.
In 2008 during Met Agafangel's inauguration Nicholas Chertkoff proclaimed ''Anaxios'' outloud in the church. He was promptly subdued and the service went on.
The questions presented by Nicholas were never addressed.
Kostacc, ask a reliable Russian-speaker to translate the first two paragraphs : http://www.people.su/2267
This is Agafangel's public email : agafangel.roca@gmail.com
Send Agafangel the link .Ask him to give you a straightforward answer(YES or NO) if he was a member of KOMSOMOL.
Ask for his permission to make his answers public. You can also ask about his family, although it is less pertinent.
Kostacc, I do have a huge problem with ROCOR(A) - I think it s an absolute disgrace for an individual with the history of soviet indoctrination to claim the succession of St Philaret and Metropolitan Vitaly.
And I want to repeat one more time ,just for you Kostacc, it is my strong beleif that Agafangel Pashkovsky is an imposter.

I would back up Igor, because I heard this same information years ago !
It is established fact regarding the family and other questions.
I had forgotten completely until Igor refreshed my memory.
I do uphold Igor's right to assert true information ! What is wrong with saying facts, particularly in a Private Forum where there are no known adherents of Agafangel's specific jurisdiction, though there are a number belonging to the now unified GOC-K.

Met Agafangel never denied about wife/daughter emigrants. This was all discussed much during the birth of PSCA [initially] and then renamed Rocor-A before calling itself ROCA.

God sees all including what is written and what is in the hearts of those who write.

If Met. Agafangel has converted from his ways to join True Orthodoxy, shouldn't we be rejoicing with him?
Yes, he needs our prayers. Furthermore, we should be praying for everyone, that they may repent and be saved.

Yesterday, I was talking with a person who claims to be an evangelical Christian. This same person came over to E Cafe and commented that he cannot join E Cafe because of the angry and resentful posts of some of the members here. It is really a shame that he is turning away from True Orthodoxy because of the attitudes of certain members here.

There are two threads currently at E Cafe that ask for comments to improve E Cafe.
Few have responded, but I think a change in attitude would really help.
Do we love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and being?
Do we pray for those who offend us, and do we pray for our enemies?
Are we becoming more Christ-like as did St. Seraphim of Sarov so that thousands around him were converted?
If not, why not?

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Could someone summarize the facts regarding the current controversy within ROCOR-A? I understand that some are displeased with the position expressed by other members regarding the war in Ukraine. Is it so? Personally, I think that some positions of pro-Ukrainian persons are really exaggerated because the issue is far more complicated than "good Ukrainians - bad Russians and boooh Putin is evil" or "bad Uniate Ukrainians and yeaah Putin defends orthodoxy against Uniates". The most probable is that both sides are in fact anti-true orthodox.
