Does anyone usually eat a breakfast, at least a small one before Church?
Thanks

Nope. One should be fasting from midnight on when they are going to go to Divine Liturgy.

Even a graceless heretic swine like myself knows that you are supposed to have nothing to eat or drink after midnight.

That is true only of you are partaking of the Eucharist. Otherwise, it is fine to have breakfast before the Liturgy.

I've heard elsewhere that it is a pious custom, but not a strict Church teaching, to not eat after midnight even if not communing...since you will most likely be taking antidoran.

Of course, we should strive to be receiving every time we go. The antidoron is for those that for one reason or another cannot receive, but I, too have also been told that it is only for Orthodox who have fasted since midnight.

The position of the GOA is that the antidoran is for ALL who attend the Liturgy and not just Orthodox Christians.
