A very interesting picture. And I am glad there is a corner of Russian there too.

Sasha, the picture has shown up twice now. Thanks.
Perhaps there is a glitch with your computer loading it.
Yes, where we live near Glendale, California, people call Glendale "Little Armenia." When Armenians want to come to America, they get their relatives to "adopt" them, so their wealthy American Armenians buy them a house next door to theirs and before long, a neighborhood becomes an "Armenian enclave." Greeks do the same thing because yiayia like to be within walking distance of her grandchildren, and cousins like to visit each other.
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Is it true that there are so many speakers of Russian in Oregon?

Yes, this is true.
My mom was surprised when a new Russian Church opened in the foothills near her.
She lives in Corvallis, Oregon.

I am glad Alexander posted the image twice, because my computer shows a box with an "X" in it
for the first post but displays the map fine the second time he posted it.
That IS really interesting !
I am surprised that Russian would be so preponderant in Oregon.
There were plenty of Old Believers there before ; I wonder why else this would be ?
Maria, which jurisdiction is that parish near your mother ?
Was that a Rocor-MP one ? Maybe your mother did not pay attention, but
she could easily find out.
My eyes went to Louisiana next, where French is the next language spoken.
I then found an article somewhere else unrelated saying that Louisiana is trying to
put in bilingual signs. I hope they DO pass that law ! I would love to see Louisiana return to
its original character of a French coloinal town.
It got way off track into voodoo and the bayou magic and gambling, excessive Carnival....
